Training courses on "Children and young people with type 1 diabetes in daycare centers and schools"

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is continuing to fund training courses for childcare professionals in 2021. A new information film gives educational professionals an insight into dealing with children who have type 1 diabetes.

The state government is continuing the training project launched at the end of 2019 to improve the situation of children with type 1 diabetes in daycare centers, schools and care facilities. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding the training project in 2021 with a total of 240,740 euros. The training program includes various modules - from providing basic knowledge and general training for caregivers in daycare centers and schools to individual training for caregivers in relation to a specific child with type 1 diabetes. There is also a new information film, which was produced with financial support from IKK classic. As a first step, the film is intended to give educational professionals in day-care centers and teaching staff an insight into dealing with children with type 1 diabetes and thus reduce uncertainty.

The film is available at homepage of Deutsche Diabetes-Hilfe NRW.
