Medical care in daycare centers

Growing up healthy at nursery: from cough syrup to fever measurement and injections - where parents used to be primarily responsible for providing their children with medication, nowadays specialist educational staff are also involved.

Brochure "Medical and nursing care in day care centers and child day care"

The provision of medication in childcare facilities and daycare centers is becoming increasingly important. Particularly in the course of the further development of all-day care and inclusive care, the dispensing of medication is often part of everyday business. For educational staff, this is a topic that raises many questions. The Rhineland Regional Association and the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association have therefore produced a joint brochure to provide practical guidance on the administration of medication in daycare centers and child daycare, the Vaccination Protection Act (IfSG) and current health issues.

The brochure (as of 2018) with the corresponding sample forms can be found under the heading "Arbeitshilfen" on the homepage of the LVR. A new edition is currently being prepared.
