The Climate Adaptation in Social Facilities programme is aimed at municipalities, non-profit associations as well as organizations and companies that are active in the health and social sectors. For example, hospitals, nursing and retirement homes or hospices, kindergartens, schools, neighborhood centers or refugee and homeless facilities are eligible to apply.

Funding is available for the creation of climate adaptation concepts and their implementation, e.g. green roofs and façades, storage areas for rainwater, shade-providing pavilions, the installation of sun sails or the construction of water playgrounds. However, training and further education programs as well as information campaigns on the topic of climate adaptation, which are aimed at employees as well as the people cared for and their relatives, are also supported.
