State Parents' Council
State parents' council for daycare centers
Parents are the most important partners for educational professionals in child daycare. The KiBiz grants parents participation and involvement rights, giving them the opportunity to play a constructive role in the education and upbringing process. In addition, democratically legitimized local and supra-local parental involvement is also made possible (youth welfare office parents' councils and Landeselternbeirat).
The state parents' council represents the interests of children and their parents and has a say in issues affecting daycare facilities.
The North Rhine-Westphalia Child Education Act (KiBiz) provides for elected parent representation at city and state level. The election for the state parents' council in North Rhine-Westphalia takes place annually with the votes counted at the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees and Integration.
