What is the State Parents' Advisory Council?

The State Parents' Advisory Council is a group of mothers and fathers.
These parents look after the interests of children and parents.
They campaign for good conditions in child daycare.

For example:

• when it comes to child daycare facilities
• or when it comes to child daycare.

Parents and educators work together in daycare
Parents are allowed to participate
so that the children are well looked after.

For example, parents are allowed to have a say

• in the education of their children
• in the upbringing of their children

This is stated in the law.
The law is called:
Children's Education Act.
The short form is: KiBiz.

The Children's Education Act in North Rhine-Westphalia states:
There should be elected parent representatives.
These parent representatives exist

• in the cities and districts
• and for the entire federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Each year, the parents elect the State Parents' Advisory Council.
The votes are counted in the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees and Integration.
