Information on the vocational language course "Early education professions"

funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees

With the entry into force of the Regulation on the Principles of Qualifications and Staffing Ratios (Personnel Regulation) for KiBiz on 06.12.2024, the possibilities regarding the deployment of staff in child daycare facilities have become more diverse. For qualifications obtained abroad, a corresponding certificate assessment or corresponding proof from the anabin database is often sufficient to arrive at an assessment of the qualification (§ 2 Para. 6 PersVO).

People with a qualification obtained abroad require language skills in order to work in German daycare facilities and become familiar with the specifics of the German education system. The vocational language courses funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees tie in precisely with this.

The advantages of the vocational language course "Early education professions":

  • Participant-oriented language training with practical content specifically geared towards the requirements of early education activities.
  • Flexible learning depending on language level and professional requirements possible thanks to three course orientations.
  • Testing of real work processes.
  • Team teaching of highly qualified language teachers (approval according to § 18 para. 5 DeuFöV) with specialist lecturers possible.

First professional language courses "Early education professions" are already being realized in North Rhine-Westphalia.

On the website https://web.arbeitsagentur.de/sprachfoerderung/suche/berufssprachkurse you can find out whether this already applies to your municipality under the keyword "Frühpädagogik".

The initiation of further courses in North Rhine-Westphalia would be desirable and local networking between the youth welfare office, municipal integration center, independent providers and language course providers is an important aspect of attracting more people to work in daycare facilities.
